kStats Reloaded – the fast statistics plugin for WordPress

StatPress & StatPress Reloaded move over, there’s a new WordPress statistics plugin in town! It’s called kStats Reloaded. Even though it’s still in beta I find it more useful than StatPress (Reloaded) because it’s a lot faster and the charts look better. It even has an option to import all your historical data accumulated by StatPress. IMHO, kStats Reloaded is the best stats plugin for a WordPress site. Hey, I even threw out Google Analytics because kStats gives me all data I’m interested in and even displays it in a widget on the WordPress admin dashboard.

There’s just one thing: if you happen to use the wildly popular WP Super Cache plugin on your WordPress site make sure you set it to “HALF ON” instead of “FULL”. In “FULL” mode WP Super Cache will serve the page in a way that kStats won’t see/count it.

Oh, and one more thing: the author doesn’t recommend to use his beta plugin on a live website. It works like a charm on my WordPress site though.

  1. No Timmie, I always make a print screen photo.Go to plugins and click on the text where your kStats is saved and go to that site. They must have some kind of FAQ

  2. Hello Sam, Yes, i´ve done so. But what i want to know is how to view the logs, how to see old statistic from like a month ago. Do you know if i can do so?

  3. in kStats you can post IP addresses you don’t want to be counted.I did with mine, also people that spam you all the time which is cool.
Timmie: kStats>Options>How many days of aggregate data to retain (0=unlimited). Type zero and save and you’ll keep everything.

  4. Heey, do you know how to view old statistics from Kstats, tought it says it will save statistics 360days in the options. Thanks

  5. I have the same problem as Stephanie. GA can track very little unlike kStats. kStats has IP address and country and GA just site link.kStats will measure data 2/day.
I am guessing that if more then 1 person comes from same site GA will count 1 and kStat all of them. Also, each picture is counted as a view.If you have 2 pix on that page you’ll get clicks.I always check uniques in my cPanel. You know,Awstats and it is closer to GA then kStats.

  6. Hello.

I know this comment is late… but can somebody let me know why the info on kStats is always different than the info on Google Analytics? I feel like on kStats… I get a lot of visitors… on Google… I get almost ZERO visitors. What is going on?

  7. I got KStats a few weeks ago and so far it has worked beautifully. It is now Jan. 11, 2011 and I am sure these old posts refer to the long ago past. If it is still in beta, it works beta than Google Analytics any day of the weeks. I do hope that things are added in the future perhaps a way to block those spider bots from unknown sources that are sucking up bandwidth. Also I seem to get alot of “unknown”IP’s, that do not show a searched term, so am assuming those are bots? Any answer would help. Thanks again for the great plugin, nice not to have to rely on Google for everything.

  8. Hi Jan,

thanks for the reply. I tested it on a WordPress site (not MU) as well and it seems to work perfectly. Can’t get it to work on MU though. But that doesn’t matter, because I can use Google Analytics there.

    Anyway thanks for the answer.

  9. Daniel, it runs perfectly on any WP site (not MU though) I installed it so far. I chowned the ini files and the config php file to user and group www-data (instead of chmod). But that’s all I had to do.

    Cheers,
    Jan

  10. Hi there,

I would like to use the kstats plugin on one of my new sites. But I have test installed it on a WordPressMU site and it doesn’t seem to work there. I made the ini folder writable and reinstalled the plugin several times but it doesn’t show anything. Like it is not recording.

And I already double checked if th WP Super Cache plugin is running on that site as well, but it isn’t.

    Daniel
